Senate Approves Financial Bailout Bill

The US Senate voted tonight on the financial markets bailout bill. Massachusetts Senator John Kerry voted in favor of the bill, while Senator Ted Kennedy, who was not in attendence did not vote. The voting tally was 74 in favor and 25 against. Having attained a minimum of 60 votes in the affirmative, the bill as amended was passed and will be sent back to the House. Both presidential candidates McCain and Obama voted in favor of the bill, as did Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden, who also voted yes.
