Change in Location/Date ADTC Pre-Caucus Meeting |

Dear Committee Members and Friends,
There has been a change in the location and date of the upcoming ADTC pre-caucus meeting.
New Information:
Meeting Date Thursday, February 9, 2012
Location: Jones Library, Community Room (Downstairs)
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Purpose: Informational — Discussion of caucus and selection of delegates.
This meeting is open to anyone interested in attending the caucus and having questions about how delegates are selected. Since delegates need not be members of the ADTC, we encourage non-members and friends to attend. Delegates must be a registered democrat in Amherst, MA.

Governor Patrick's 2012 State of the Commonwealth Address |

 BOSTON, MA — Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick gave his annual State of the Commonwealth address last night, in which he proposed sweeping changes to the community college system, centralizing authority for 15 campuses and emphasizing job training.
Patrick said "We have a skills gap. We can do something about that. We
can help people get back to work. And our community colleges should be
at the very center of it."
He reinforced an assessment made by a pair of reports released last
November that described the state's community college system as
disjointed and inadequate in its preparations of students for technical
careers.

the legislature, with UMass Economics Professor Gerald Friedman
explaining the funding, and a legislator to outline the legislative
process for the bill.
