Override Passes in Amherst Saving Services For School, Town, and Library Programs |
AMHERST — March 26, 2010 — Residents voted "YES" to approve the $1.68
million Proposition 2 1/2 override by a wide margin in favor of
providing money to school, town, and library programs and positions that
would otherwise have been slashed.
The vote was the third tax-cap override in Amherst's history and the
first in six years and was decided by a better than 58-to-42 percent
margin.

Budget Cuts: Shaffer Unveils His Plan |
